Hello tech and light people!
We are looking for a lighting designer and technical director for a week-long London run of Simon Grangeat’s Closed Lands at VAULT in March 2020
We initially staged this work as part of an r&d earlier this year, with a technical set-up involving two projectors and a live-feed camera. We are now looking to refine and streamline this set-up to allow us to adapt to a Fringe-style turnaround time.
We’re looking for a collaborative individual who will work with the director Becka McFadden and associate director Jon Millington on the technical design of the show, encompassing light, sound and video projection. Our work embraces liveness and views the technical elements and their operator as a fellow cast member responding as events on stage play out in real time.
If this way of working excites you and you’re experienced in working with multimedia elements on stage, we want to hear from you! As a company founded and led by migrant women, we are particularly keen to receive applications from female-identifying designers or fellow migrants to the UK. Please send a CV and a short email of motivation to firstname.lastname@example.org by 15 November. In case of any questions, please feel free to drop us a line.
Fee: £450-£650 (£450 to design + £25/show to operate up to 8 shows)

Dates: Pre-production/consultation with creative team (Jan to mid-Feb); 2-day tech intensive (approx 14-16 Feb, dates tbc); tech rehearsal: 2 or 3 March; show dates: 3-8 March
